I’m a K-12 state certified art teacher and have been teaching art for the past five years. I got my BFA in Studio Art at the University of Texas at Austin. I am available for private art lessons or additional art enrichment for students participating in learning pods. Private lessons can be done from the comfort of your own home (if based in the Spring Branch, Memorial, or Heights area) or at my house in Spring Branch.

Concentrations Offered:
-Elementary art: tactile, engaging sessions which focus on fun, brightly colored projects using a mix of media (markers, watercolor, paint, and paper collage).
*recommended for students K-5. An additional supply fee will be added to the hourly rate and will vary based on parent-approved projects (ie- I will give you lots of budget-friendly options). Elementary art projects are one-offs, and can be purchased individually as we will complete one full project per session.

-Drawing with Graphite Pencil: sessions which focus on drawing from observation, with emphasis on pencil and pen projects. Great for students that are learning realism for the first time, teaching techniques such as proportion, value (shading), and spacial reasoning. Sessions may be booked at any frequency you desire, but I would suggest at least 5 sessions to allow for building up technique and completing a full project.
*recommended for beginner & intermediate students.

-Drawing with Prisma Pencil: sessions which focus on drawing using PrismaColor colored pencils. These sessions teach students how to burnish with Prisma to create blended color. They will learn how to grid and how to apply color theory to create lifelike drawings they can be proud of. Sessions may be booked at any frequency you desire, but I would suggest at least 7 sessions to allow for building up technique and completing a full project.
*recommended for intermediate to advanced students that have already mastered basic proportion and shading with regular pencil.

Pricing
My rate is $75/hr for up to 4 students. Students taking either drawing course need to supply their own drawing paper or good-sized sketchbook (at least 9x12) to use for projects. If you would like recommendations on paper/sketchbooks, simply ask; I’m here to help!

NOTE: In alignment with current health protocols, all students will be required to wear masks for the duration of their lessons until further notice. I will be wearing a mask as well. All supplies are wiped down with sanitizing wipes between use to maintain a virus-free environment!
